General Guidelines

 
Usually to apply for a real estate mortgage loan, a borrower typically needs to provide a range of documentation to demonstrate their financial stability and stability to repay the loan, for example: 1. Proof of employment such as pay stubs (usually covering the past 30 days); 2. Tax returns (typically for the last two years), W-2 or 1099 forms (for salaried employees or freelancers); 3. Two months of bank statements, saving or checking or both; 4. A signed consent authorization letter for the lender to check your credit score and report; 5. Copy of a goverment-issued ID (e.g., driver's license or passport); 6. If you are buying a home, a copy of an accepted purchase agreement by the seller. 7. If you are self employed or own a company, other conditions may apply to you such as copy of tax returns, 2 years, or only a copy of a profit and loss statement or P&L or copy of bank statements only.
